Why A Pause is Important

Why A Pause is important:

Today’s trends always seem to raise questions. The most important one to start with is “why”. Why is a pig named Pickle getting so many likes on Instagram, WHY did the Kylie Jenner lip challenge become as big as it did? Recently, yet another movement has come to the spotlight. The official title is Project Semicolon, a faith based non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and love to those who are struggling with depression, addiction, suicide, and self injury.  Now, WHY a semicolon? The purpose of a semicolon in writing is when the author could’ve ended their sentence, but made the choice not to. When viewed in the context of the survivors of the previously mentioned illnesses and the author and the writing their life, what a beautiful symbol and powerful message.

We can also see why this framing can be important in everyone’s movement through life as well. Always focusing and striving for peace within a constant storm. Meditation’s medical benefits are endless; decreases stress, improves mood, lowers blood pressure, and the list continues. However, I thought it would be beneficial to relax, breathe, and remember WHY an effective and positive “pause” such as meditation is essential in our daily routine.

1.    I am grateful for…. Releasing gratitude is an essential and pivitol point of meditiation, whether it is in the form of prayer or practice gaining knowledge of what we are grateful for is essential

2.    ATTENTION! ATTENTION!....While focusing on a specific thing and choosing to actively ignore others we allow our brain improve its ability to be more aware of what is happening around you all the while having a stronger present state.

3.    Don’t stress about it… Studies have shown that when you make the practice of concentrating on your breathe, sensations in your body, thought and emotions in which over takes your mind. You move towards freedom and eventually changing the way your mind and body responds to negative thoughts.

4.    A gift for you…Always remember when we aren’t healthy, we stunt the possibility for making others around us healthy and in turn the world.

So always remember, to sit up, relax, take a moment, and breathe.
