RML is making waves in LA again with the launch of a new program led by kids, for kids!
Created by Rainbeau Mars and inspired by her daughter, Jade Mars, The 14 Day Health Challenge for Kids & Families (#14DHC) began on Monday, June 2nd, 2014 with over 300 participants.
Several young celebs have joined the challenge, such as kid rapper Lela Brown, 11, who was a contestant on "America's Got Talent" and Johnny Sequoyah, 11, of the show "Believe" who can relate to their peers that when "you're eating only junk food, it makes you really tired and sometimes in a bad mood after."
But Mars was quick to point out that when it comes to the kids, this cleanse is not about weight loss. Besides health benefits, she wants the kids to really think about where their food is coming from. Avoiding animal products, including "cholesterol, antibiotics and any fear we may be ingesting is good for the planet and good for us all."
"I also noticed that probably 95 percent of the kids had never helped in the kitchen," she said, something she thinks is crucial for getting kids to eat healthy.
The vegan cleanse challenge is available through a daily email; anyone can participate by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Watch the video below to see Rainbeau and the kids discuss the 14-Day Health Challenge on ABC’s Good Morning America!
